5 days before the Financial Collapse – Coming Chaos: No Banks, No Public Facilities, No Food and Rampaging Gangs of Desperate People

Financial Collapse

5 days before the Financial Collapse

Here is the scenario.  “Government agencies are having difficulty making their payments.  State governments are issuing vouchers to pay their bills.  US Social Security is late in issuing its payments to retirees and the disabled.  Many banks are issuing warnings about liquidity.   The prices of food are escalating by the hour.  Instead of talking about the latest inane reality TV show, everyone is talking about inflation, money, mass layoffs, etc.  It is 5 days before the economic collapse.”   So, what do you do? Five Levels of Home Heating Redundancy

The cold wave that is gripping the country is a demonstration that survival tactics are applicable to season conditions.   The desperate arctic blast is dangerous and potentially deadly.  Arctic Vortex Causes Dangerous Cold  The polar vortex is the worst in 25 years.

Exposure to the elements, especially the cold, is on of the fundamental 5 killers in a disaster.  Because of the amount of investment and preparation needed, home heating is one of the hardest prep elements for survival preparations.   You can improvise a lot of thing, but home heating is not one.  Either you are ready or not.   Therefore I recommend that you have a full five levels of redundancy for home heating. First-aid kit – Never Be Without These Things

As I travel frequently, I am never without some items.   Whether I’m out of town or taking the children to one of their events, I’m always ready with render aid to others.  Here is a quick list of things you should never be without, as you go about your day.

1#Cell Phone/Mobile Phone with extra batteries – In a disaster event, everyone starts calling their family and friends.  The lines get swamped and it become difficult to connect.  Phone batteries quick drain when making repeated calls.   I carry 3 carry batteries for my mobile phone.  Remember to set up your phone contacts on your mobile phone with “Emergency Contacts” or “In Case of Emergency” contacts on your phone, in case you are unconscious. Guerrilla Gardening – Hiding your food production

Guerrilla Gardening – Hiding your food production

I would like to introduce the concept of guerrilla gardening to you.   I’m unsure if this is an original concept, but nonetheless, I am here to share knowledge.   Guerrilla gardening is a concept of distributing and hiding your garden patches.  Rather than having one single large garden, guerrilla gardening is about have many small garden patches.   The goal of guerrilla gardening is not relying on a single point of failure.   A great deal of survival topics is simply about not having single points of failure.   When you have redundancies, you have abundance.  When you have just one of something, and that something is no longer available, then you are put into a disaster situation. Inflation The Key Prior Indicator Towards The Next Great Depression — How to prepare

The-Great-Depression-300x300Inflation The Key Prior Indicator Towards The Next Great Depression — How to prepare

What keeps me awake at night is the prospect of a financial collapse.  Unless something dramatically changes in the world economies, I believe the next great economic depression is coming soon.  If you life in Argentina, Greece or Spain, the depression has already arrived and millions are suffering from it.  With 50% youth unemployment in Spain, cancer patients in Greece with no access to chemo drugs, or the malnutrition of Argentina’s underclass children, economic depression is real, painful, and reduces life expectancy. Places To Hide Food

Food Storage

Places To Hide Food

Quick update: This article pertains to long-term stored food. Food that has an expiration under 3 years should be actively rotated in your day-to-day food preparation. The food that you hide away should have a shelf life of 10 years or longer.

There is a lot you can improvise when you are a knowledgeable, skilled prepper. Among what you cannot improvise is food, water, and firearms. As I have suggested in previous posts, a single person should store at least 3 months of food and a family should store at least one year’s worth of food. These are minimums. And I recommend that you continuously build up your food storage program until you reach three years of stored food.

You Will Lose These Things in the Next Great Depression

You Will Lose These Things in the Next Great Depression

The audience of my blog are thoughtful, mindful people who have insight in the future.  That future includes the next Great Depression.  It will happen within your lifetime, perhaps within 5 years.  From what I have read and studied, a mere 2% of our society are preppers.  The means 98% of society is unprepared for the future.   The greatest risk to preppers are non-preppers.   In the next Great Depression, when people are hungry, desperate, and therefore have no fear of arrest, the survival prepper is the target.   For these reason, I strongly advise that you keep a low profile, hide in plain sight, and keep OpSec.   Essentially, tell no one that you are a survival prepper.  Your first duty is your family.   You must feed and protect your family.  After your family is provided for, then only can you help your neighbors.

Five  Key Foods For Survival

If you had to focus on just 5 key foods for survival, what would they be?

Why even discuss this type of question?  My website’s focus on how to organize things in 5 key dimensions.  The rational is the number “5″ is an optimal number to manage against.   A list of 4 or fewer items doesn’t provide sufficient coverage and details.  Six or more items start to become unmanageable.  Despite our modern thinking and use of electronics to conduct multi-tasking, the human brain works very well when focused on once subject at time.   This is true for men in general.  If my wife asks me what I’m thinking, the response will be commonly, “nothing”.  This is hard for women to accept, but men are often think about nothing.  It’s not because men are dense, stupid or simple.  It’s just that men will periodically give their brains short rest, then return to the task at hand.  If you ask me to focus on one thing at a time, the task will be completed with strong quality.  Ask me to concurrently juggle 5 things at a time, all five will get finished with poor quality.

Dust Bowl and Great Depression

Dust Bowl and Great Depression

There is a global crisis for fresh water.  The results of this crisis will affect everyone around the world.   Where fresh water is available, food can be grown and life flourishes.   In developed countries, the price of food will skyrocket.  In less developed countries, the result will be starvation and misery.

Another symptom have the water crisis is Gulf of Mexico ‘dead zone’ is the size of Connecticut

By year 2030, there will be dramatic geopolitical changes around the world regarding fresh water and food availability.  The have’s and the have-nots’ will be separated by having enough to eat.  The wealthy will be identified by having 3 full meals per day.  The middle class will have 2 meals per day.  And the poor will sadly have but one full meal per day.  This is a reality that is becoming real already.

How to Prepare for an Economic Collapse

United States of America

National debt has cross $17 trillion and continues to rise.   By end of 2014, likely the debt will be higher that $18 trillion.   Obama has no will, no plan, and has taken no serious action to confront the national debt.   The national debt does not include all future obligations of social security, federal retiree benefits, veteran benefits.   The states of California and Illinois have debt which are unsustainable.  My biggest worry for my children is that they may grow up during a great depression.  Of call the countries listed here, I’d rather be in the United States than any other country.  The United States is very capable of providing its own food.  Has vast resources.  The United States is likely to be the last of any country to enter the next great depression, due to all the tools it has available.  But if and when the United States does enter a great depression, the rest of the world will be drag down.  I pray and hope this never occurs.
